Mitch Mayne is an openly gay, active Latter-day Saint (Mormon), and from 2011 to 2013 served as the executive secretary in the bishopric (ecclesiastical leadership) of the LDS Church in San Francisco.
Mitch is now a national voice on Mormon LGBT issues, and promotes bridge-building between the Mormon and the LGBT communities. A special emphasis of Mitch’s work is improving the health, mental health, and well being of Mormon LGBT youth and young people in the context of their faith. Mitch works directly with LGBT Mormons, their families, and Mormon leadership, to help create a more inclusive Mormon culture that helps bring all members closer to our Savior, through fostering an understanding of and responses to LGBT members that is in keeping with the best parts of Mormon doctrine.
He works in corporate communication for a Fortune 100 firm, and holds a masters degree in communication and media from Stanford University. Mitch lives in San Francisco, CA.
